“The best laid plans of mice and men, Go often askew.” - Robert Burns
Though it’s been all too often quoted, it is quite fitting for todays blog.
In the beginning of this process you were promised the nitty-gritty of making a film -- highs and lows. It’d be much easier to continue to write about the highs, and probably much more glamourous and exciting. But nothing in life can survive on constant highs and considering the path we’ve chosen to take we must expect the lows from time to time.
After several months of communication we have been told by a particular organization that they regrettably do not have the funds at this time to support Sudden Death! financially. This is a truly unfortunate turn of events but a real risk in making any film. Often times you chase several leads only to have a handful come to fruition. But that handful of people, places and friends gives our films their character and makes all the work worthwhile. Don’t get me wrong, we certainly needed and would have loved and appreciated their support; but, we have faith that other lines we have cast will come in bigger and better then we ever expected they would.
I write this not to be all “doom and gloom” about what we do but to be honest and truthful with you about what we’re going through. We’ve all worked very hard on this film. Every person on our Crew is an invaluable piece of this puzzle and continues to go above and beyond to help us create the best product possible. They are part of this process -- they are part of our “handful” and our blessing.
As you can see from this fine picture above (ha ha!), all the pieces of the puzzle are starting to come together. We still have quite a ways to go and we still need your support -- now more then ever -- but we know we’re on our way to something great and with your support I know we’ll get there.
If you have any questions about how you can support Sudden Death! financially or otherwise please don’t hesitate to contact us at anytime. And as always, thanks for walking through this adventure with us.
